Horsefly
Gateway to the majestic Cariboo Mountains in the east, on the banks of the Horsefly River, the
community of Horsefly is an opportune place from which to embark on a number of exciting
activities and provides some of the best opportunities for year round adventure in the Central
Cariboo.
Just 60 kilometers east of 150 Mile House on the south branch of the old gold rush trail, the town
of Horsefly is a renowned historical site that was known as Harper’s Camp until the 1930’s. One
of the first major gold deposits was discovered here in 1859 instigating the massive influx of
miners out to seek their fortunes during the great Cariboo Gold Rush.

guest ranches, B&B’s and campsites all throughout Horsefly and area and many amenities offered
including a variety of shops, a pub, liquor store, gas station, Laundromat, and post office to name
a few.

a fall fair, theatrical performances, numerous sporting events and the immensely popular Arts on
the Fly Music, Arts and Dance Festival, an annual cultural extravaganza!

Horsefly Falls is a notable attraction and witnessing the second largest sockeye salmon run in the
