Welcome to Williams Lake & the Central Cariboo!

Hot Summers, White Winters.

Williams Lake's new Tourism Discovery Centre

Located in the heart of British Columbia Canada, the Central Cariboo offers a wide range of year round activities for the entire family. This is a land of unparallel beauty and diversity, where the geography ranges from dense forests and pristine mountain lakes to arid cactus covered vistas, rugged canyons and open plains. Not only is the area diverse in landscape, it is rich in culture, heritage, and history.

The region is filled with adventure and outdoor excitement- where working cowboys can still be found riding the range. With a growing mountain biking trail system, hiking, swimming, fishing, camping, skiing, snowmobiling and water sports, the area is naturally a major attraction for outdoor recreation enthusiasts.

The Central Cariboo is one of the provinces last untouched wilderness escapes with numerous protected areas, parks and opportunities to view wildlife such as moose, deer, black bears, grizzly bears, and eagles.

As a destination, the Central Cariboo is home to one of largest stampedes in British Columbia, as well as BC's Cowboy Hall of Fame. You will also find our unique brand of western hospitality accommodating for your stay.
